What’s that? You don’t know what the MCM Expo is? Think of it as the UK’s equivalent to the San Diego Comic-Con, with a huge amount of movie exhibitions, animé showcases and (mostly importantly for us here at Game Rant) a huge number of videogames to play. Here’s the official lowdown:

It’s a lot of fun, so if you’re unsure, why not go down and check it out? Tickets cost just £10, and it’s a great day out for all involved. Especially if you like seeing overweight men wearing tight-fitting bikinis – Then it’s even better!

Europe’s answer to the San Diego Comic Con, the London MCM Expo features hundreds of exhibitors including major movie studios, acclaimed comic artists and world famous videogame developers. And did we mention that kids aged 10 and under get in for free?

This year also sees the London MCM Expo attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the Largest Handheld Game Console Party; so if you’re attending the show on 29 May bring along your Nintendo DS and help make history.

Tom Copeland and I, Phillipe Bosher will be there, so if you see either of us hanging around, be sure to say Hi!

Note: I may or may not be wearing pictured hat. Don’t look for the hat!

What you (the gamer) needs to know

There’s going to be a ton of games shown at the Expo, including the upcoming Blur, Transformers: War for Cybertron and No More Heroes 2, along with a huge collection of other games from the likes of Activision, Rising Star Games and Nintendo.

If you want to be a part of the DS world record attempt, pre-registration has now closed, but all you need to do is head on over to the expo at 11:45am with your DS ready to go, and you could be a part of a new world record!

Of course, there’s loads of other stuff going on at MCM (including some very cool special guests - most notably Kyle Hebert, the voice of Ryu from Street Fighter IV - check them out on the official website), so head on over to the official site for more information.

And don’t forget, if you see Tom or I, give us a shout!
